My name is Julie. I am originally from France, and have been living in New Zealand for about 5 years.

I discovered pottery work about 3 years ago, and quickly fell in love with all the magic that is possible with clay work. I started wheel throwing and am still discovering all the different possibilities and techniques of the pottery world.

I currently focus on functional-ware and kitchenware. I greatly enjoy carving my pieces by hand, either intuitively or in the theme of a particular collection. I love intricate glazing-work, where earthy tones meet smooth, organic shapes. I sell my work off instagram (@terra.metis.ceramics) so don’t hesitate to enquire about what you see on my page.

My work is also available in shops and cafes around Auckland, Hamilton, Raglan and Napier. I also regularly attend markets around the Waikato and ‘wellness festivals’ across the north island. I am happy to discuss new and different projects. I like to take on new challenges but will always be honest in my ability to do it.
